It is scheduled to start at 10:00 AM on MLK Day 2008, 1/21/2008. The course is relatively flat & fast, and is mostly tree-shaded. Participants can have fun running, walking, strolling or at whatever speed. Parking is available in the park. There will be Overall & Masters Winner awards, plus 3-deep awards in 34 essentially 5-year age/gender brackets from 8 & Under to 80 & Over. Donated school supplies are encouraged for AISD’s Blanton Elementary School; and the races net proceeds will go to that school to help some of the needy students in our midst. Proceeds from the run will benefit the Children's Advocacy Center of Comal County, a nonprofit organization that provides a safe, child-friendly and neutral environment to children alleging abuse. The CACCC aids in the prevention, detection, investigation and treatment of child abuse.

12/22/07 JUST FOR THE HECK OF IT VII – A PRE-CHRISTMAS FROLIC 5K Run/Walk 5K Elm Grove Pavilion, River Legacy Parks, 701 NW Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX 76006 TX Jeph Abara 817-265-4578 jephaa@yahoo.com This is a fun & competitive 5K race in beautiful River Legacy Parks in north Arlington. The course is relatively flat & fast, and is mostly tree-shaded. The race will be at 9:30 AM on Saturday, December 22, 2007. Participants can have fun running, walking, strolling or at whatever speed. Parking is available in the park. There will be Overall & Masters Winner awards, plus 3-deep awards in 34 essentially 5-year age/gender brackets from 8 & Under to 80 & Over. Along with the entry fee, donated new, unwrapped toys or other children’s Christmas gifts are encouraged for SafeHaven of Tarrant County; and the race’s net proceeds will go to Elite Track Club.
