This is entirely a trail run. You'll experience mud (hopefully), gravel (for sure), and a little brush as a garnish on the course (Whoo Hoo!). For those of you not wanting the entire enchilada, we also offer a shorter 5K with many of the same delightful atributes but on a shortened, and more civilized course. |

Lured in by this pleasant start, contestants will shortly have their dreams shattered as the course quickly leaves anything remotely civilized in appearance and trots up a steep tree and brush covered hill. Once down the back side you'll find yourself (briefly) on the Iron Horse Trail. Not satisfied that everyone has had their fill of brush, rocks, trees, and (hopefully) mud, the course finds you yet a new way to retrace your general route back to the finish line. |

The half-marathon follows the flats and some of the rolling hills of the marathon course but does not run down the Interurban Trail. The 5K Fun Run is flat. The races are a fund raising event in support of the Bellingham Bay Swim Team. |
