The CRC was created several years ago in Bo, Sierra Leone, West Africa to provide food, shelter, medical care and education to children who were orphaned as a result of a brutal civil war in that country. The day starts with the Cougar Literacy 5K at 7:59am. This run has doubled in size each of the past 3 years! Later that morning, students who met their reading goal will run a 1 mile loop. Throughout the day, hundreds of families from our community will be able to learn about family literacy, community involvement, the importance of physical activity and much more through the many vendors we have present. All proceeds go to support home-school reading connections and to promote literacy among our students.

Turn left onto the 2nd Alexandra’s Grove entrance. Run through the neighborhood passing Kailee’s house to the turnaround point and return to Newton-Lee. PARKING Parking outside Belmont Country Club at Toll Brothers Building on Russell Branch Parkway. Transportation will be provided to Newton-Lee. Directions to Toll Brothers Building on Russell Branch Pkwy: From Rt 7, take the Claiborne Pkwy exit. At first light make a right onto Russell Branch Pkwy. Follow Russell Branch past the Belmont front gate. Just past St. David's Church, make a left into the Toll Brothers parking lot. Race Beneficiary The race will be held in Kailee's honor, with all race proceeds going to Tracy's Kids (www.tracyskids.org), an organization that helped Kailee through her tough times at Georgetown Hospital.
