Run Lakeside Park, Pawling, New York Saturday, March 19th In 2010 the New York State Cross Country Championship race was held in Lakeside Park. This year's race will be run on the roads inside the park running along side most of the course the high school runners ran in cross country season. We will stay on the roads to avoid potentially poor conditions. Still, runners will have a similar experience to that of the high school runners who ran in last year's state cross country meet held at Lakeside Park. We have a beautiful park and a great facility to host championship level races. We hope our race provides you with an opportunity for a great day of running. Entry fee: $10 Online Registration |
| 4/3/2011 Van Cortlandt Park 10k 10k Van Cortlandt Park NY Michael Oliva 914-844-0729 http://vctconline.ning.com/page/urban-environmental-challenge-1 runningmeetup@gmail.com Van Cortlandt Park 10K Trail Race, April 3rd, 10:00 AM Come join us for the annual Urban Environmental Challenge. The UEC is a 10k race hosted by the Van Cortlandt Track Club that takes runners through all of the undiscovered trails through Van Cortlandt Park. This race is always fun and runners can expect to get a little muddy, with the odd stream crossing (log bridge optional) but it’s a great introduction to trail running! The race will be on April 3rd at 10:00 AM and will start at the Tortoise and the Hare statue in Van Cortlandt Park on Broadway (only steps from the 242nd St. stop on the #1 subway). Hope you can join us! You can register at the link below. Register soon as we expect to cap this race because the trails can't accommodate too many runners. Fast runners with too many plastic trophies need not fear. Prizes are the best carrot cakes in the city, (from the famous www.lloydscarrotcake.com) given to top 3 places in all male and female age groups. See the website for more details and a video of last year's race. Hop e to see you all there! Sign up here, http://vctconline.ning.com/page/urban-environmental-challenge-1 |
