This low key series offers three run-bike events at Denver’s Cherry Creek State Park during the winter months. Each event features a different format, covering approximately 4 miles of running and 10 miles of biking. The January event starts with a 1.5 mile run, followed by a 3.5 mile paved bike ride, then a 2.5 mile run , and concludes with a 7 mile paved bike ride. Road and fat tire divisions offered. Post race raffles and food provided.

Bear Creek Lake Park is known for it’s diverse bird and waterfowl population as well as stunning views of the foothills. The 5k and 10k races wander it’s 2500 acres with a mostly flat course - the 10k throws in a few rolling hills. In 2010, it’s first year, the Yeti Chase sold out in 5 wks! 2/12/2012 Ralston Creek Half Marathon 13.1 M 64th & Fig Streets - West Arvada CO Racing Underground 303-642-7917 http://www.ralstoncreekhalf.com info@racingunderground.com The Ralston Creek Half Marathon follows a mix of roads and bike path on the west side of Arvada The opening five miles are fairly flat, with a barely noticeable gradual gain in elevation. Miles 5-6.5 are rolling, with one good climb leading to the high point of the course atop Ralston Mesa. From there, the course is almost all down hill and flat to the finish, with the exception of a small bump at mile eight. Aid stations are every two miles. Prize money of $1000 for the top finishers. As usual with a Racing Underground event – you’ll receive great post race food, tech shirts, music & announcer, and a whole bunch of sponser raffle prizes.

The race will be held on Saturday, June 2nd, 2012 at Crossroads Church in Loveland. Watching Sierra go from a healthy, energetic, beautiful 20 year-old, to being on a ventilator and fighting for her life, all within 24 hours, only later to find out that she had died from a vaccine-preventable disease was absolutely heartbreaking. Bacterial Meningitis is a fatal disease that can affect anyone. Although, we can't change what happened to Sierra, and all of the other victims of this devastating disease, we can try to prevent this horrible tragedy from happening to anyone else. All of the proceeds from the race will be used to promote meningitis awareness and assist families with vaccination costs. Last year, over 2,000 people registered for Sierra's 4th Annual 5K Run/Walk!! We are humbled and extremely honored that Sierra's Race has become one of the largest 5K's in Colorado! Even visiting triathletes put the Stroke & Stride on their calendars as must-do events while in town. Participation tops 300 athletes many weeks during the 10 week summer series, and notable faces either cheering or competing include Ironman champions, Olympic champions, and various national champions from around the world. This is every local athlete's chance to race head-to-head against a world class competitor. The shorter distance has also been the debut open water swim or multisport event for many first-year triathletes. Every race is followed by a great spread of food, lively announcers, music, and random merchandise prizes.

Racing Underground will be hosting a long-course open water swim at the Boulder Reservoir. Swimmers can choose from 1.2 mile and 2.4 mile options. There will be a mass start at 6:30am, however, the start line will be open until 7:00am for those swimmers who would rather not start with a group. Swimmers will have until 9:30am to complete their swim. This swim can be as competitive or non-competitive as you'd like. All participants will be chip-timed (from their individual start to their individual finish), and results will be posted throughout the morning, as well as on our website on the afternoon of the event. Food, music and a sponsor merchandise drawing will follow the swim.

The Crescent Moon took on a life of it’s own, however, as we Sold-Out in late June, then turned away over 300 interested participants who were begging to get in. In 2008, we moved to a larger venue and have given the Crescent Moon its own weekend. New in 2012, we’ve moved Crescent Moon back to the crystal clear waters of Aurora Reservoir. A great race just got better! All participants will receive a heavyweight race sweatshirt, tremendous goody bag, catered BBQ lunch, raffle prizes, custom awards for division winners and $1,200 in prize money for the top performers. This race has sold out since 2007.

This race takes the place of the Cabbage Head Duathlon and features the beauty only the nearby foothills can provide. You asked for a closer venue and the West Side Duathlon fits the bill. The West Side Duathlon is the third event in the popular Mile High Duathlon Series. (Enter all three series races and you will be entered into a drawing for a pair of Zipp race wheels valued at nearly $2,000). The run course is fairly flat on paved roads, bike paths and well maintained dirt trails. The bike route is best described as rolling hills with a nice fast section on the backside. The race offers prize money for the top finishers, and great post-race food, raffle prizes and a tech shirt for each athlete.

Summer lasts just a few weeks longer on the western side of the state, so you can enjoy 70 degree water, a rural rolling bike course, and a fast trail run at the edge of the desert ' just a few short hours from Denver! Camping is available right at the race site, just 200 yards from the start and finish line. There will be $600 in prize money in the Olympic race, great post-race food, and a fun final tri weekend of the 2012 season.
