This is an open road/trail walk/run with a few hills along the way. Chip timming for 5K/10k Run and 5k walk. Entry fee $20.00 prior to April 7th 2010 and $25.00 after the 6th and on race day. Runners/Walkers can pick up their packets or late registration near the college main entrance on the Napier Campus beginning at 7:45AM on race day. Refreshments and post race awards will be held near the finish line. All participants will receive a t-shirt. Top finisher in each age group will receive a medal. The over all male and female winner will receive a trophy and prize. |

So we're hitting the pavement to show our support for single parents! "For Their Lives 5K" is a run/walk hosted by Cross Current with the purpose of raising awareness and funds for single parent families in our community. Want to show your support? Join us on Saturday, May 15th as we travel along the boardwalk from Pine Grove Park to the Blue Water Bridge and back. We're excited about giving back, no strings attached! We'll be donating the majority of the event's proceeds to Safe Horizons, an awesome non-profit that assists many single parent families touched by domestic violence and homelessness. More than 1,000 young girls aged 8-13 will celebrate their "girl power" by running 3.1 miles together with their parents, family members, teachers, and community members. This is a 5k event that is open to anyone who is willing to run, walk, or skip to the finish line! Event Day Timeline: 8am: Day of Registration Opens 9:30am: Opening Ceremony 9:45am: Registration Closes 10am: 5k Begins! 11am: Kids' Dash The New Balance Girls on the Run 5K race series, with more than 85 events across the United States and Canada, is the second largest 5k race series in the nation. This is non-competitive, celebration 5K, and times will not be recorded nor will results be posted. All finishers will receive a medal, lots of cheers and the admiration of all spectators. The 10 mile race will begin at 8:00am with the 5K following at 8:15am. A portion of the proceeds from the Gazelle Sports Bridge Run goes to Kent County Girls on the Run, Access of West Michigan, MyTeam Triumph and Hospice of Michigan. The 2010 Gazelle Sports Bridge Run 10 Mile & 5K Road Races returns for the ninth straight year in downtown Grand Rapids, MI. Join us for the Harvest Health Foods All Organic Foods Finish Line. The race begins and finishes on Monroe Center at Rosa Park Circle in downtown Grand Rapids. Because we order our shirts far in advanced, shirts are not guaranteed for all participants but we will do everything possible to try and accommodate all entrants. We are instituting a 2 hour time limit for the 10 mile run this year. You have to be able to run 12 miles in order to receive a official time for the 10 mile race. If you are still on the course over the time limit, you will be asked to move to the sidewalk. RunGR is the non-profit running club that hosts the Gazelle Sports Bridge Run. Need help training?
