Rt. 66 Triathlon on Sunday is the State Qualifier for the Best of the US Amateur Triathlete National Championship. (For rules and information go to: www.bestoftheustriathletes.com) RT. 66 Sprint Triathlon Saturday, May 31, 2008. Swim: 500M (0.3 mile) open water swim. USAT wetsuit rules apply. Anticipated lake tempature is mid 70's. Bike: 20K (12.4 mile) out and back, some inclines, mostly straight on concrete and asphalt. Light traffic. Bike helments required. Run: 5K (3.1 mile) 1-loop flat and winding asphalt road. Rt. 66 Triathlon Sunday, June 1st. Swim: 1.5K (0.9 mile) open water swim. USAT wetsuit rules apply. Anticipated lake temperature is mid 70's. Bike: 40K (24.8 mile) out and back,some hills, mostly straight on concrete and asphalt. Light traffic. Bike helmet required. Run: 10K (6.2 mile) 2-loop flat and winding asphalt road. There is something for everyone on this wonderful day full of fun and family pleasures. Smiles abound when you walk on the trails, fish, or just relax. Rest stops will be provided with fresh fruits, sports drinks, rest rooms, water and smiles. Vote for your favorite rest areas at the end of your ride! You can register on-line or pickup a brochure at your local bike shop. Register as an individual or create a team. Once your have registered, your can create a personal Tour web site.
