The Shelter is the only residential facility for battered women and victims of sexual assault in Boone County. Every 45 seconds a sexual assault occurs in America. Proceeds from the race go to FamiliesROC, a not-for-profit organization that promotes health and wellness for ovarian cancer patients and their families. FamiliesROC supports research and awareness of this silent killer and donates funds to the Washington University Research Group for Ovarian Cancer, the National Ovarian Cancer Alliance, and to our local awareness organization SLOCA (St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness.) Kids 1 mile fun run will immediately follow the 5K finish. There will be free food and drink and lots of fun things to do before and after the race, so come out and celebrate the survivors and support a great cause! Cash prizes for the top 3 male/female finishers overall Medals for top 3 male/female age group finishers. All participants who sign up by September 17 will receive long sleeve t-shirt and race goodie bag.
