Mark your calendars for Friday and Saturday, February 10 and 11, 2012 and get set for 47 laps outside the fastest ice on earth! Not ready to run a marathon? You can still be a part of the excitement by joining other runners and walkers in the 5K! Athletes will have the opportunity to show off their skills by running 21,100 meters (a half-marathon, approx 47 laps) or 5,000 meters (3.1 miles, approx 11 laps). Runners will be making their way around the 442m track inside the climate controlled Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns. Bring the whole crew to cheer and skate! You will be able to skate during the race on the fastest ice on earth while the runner in your family competes just outside the ice. This is a ' bare bones" event with no t-shirts, prizes etc but good value for your money and a chance to get out of the cold. Resolution + Determination = Achievement The Dogtown Ѕ Marathon is a 13.2 mile course stretched across beautiful Washington City. Runners will start in Coral Canyon run down through Hell’s Canyon and along the Virgin river out Washington Dam road through Washington Fields, past Staheli Farms, and ending at Treasure Valley Park. It is a perfect training distance for full marathons. Whether beginner or veteran racer, this course offers a quality experience for all types of runners. We also have a looped 9k run that starts and ends at Treasure Valley Park. |

The starting line will be about one mile north of the Fairview Lakes Lookout at the top of Fairview Canyon on Highway 31, which is between mile markers 11 and 12. The race will begin at approximately the 9300 ft. level and proceed on an uphill grade for about 3 kilometers to the summit, which is just below the 10,000 ft. elevation level. It will then continue on a downhill grade for the next 7 kilometers to conclude at approximately the 9100 ft. level. The finish line will be at the parking lot of Huntington Reservoir Dam. There will be two aid stations, one located at the 3000 meter point and one at the 6000 meter point of the race, with water for the racers. There will also be a racers table of fruit and drinks at the finish. Parking is available at the starting line and transportation will be provided back to the starting line parking lot at the conclusion of the race. |
