When: February 21, 2009, (Rain or Shine!) 9:30 am Fun Run/ Walk Registration Begins 10:00 am Fun Run / Walk Starts 11:00 am Benefit Concert Starts 11:00 am Silent Auction Opens 12:00 noon Silent Auction Closes Where: Harper Houf Peterson Righellis 205 SE Spokane Street, Suite 200 Portland, Oregon 97202 Registration Fees: Fun Run / Walk Registration Fees: $10 per person $5 kids 10 and younger Why: The proceeds of the fundraising event will go towards the purchase of food for the Harper Houf Peterson Righellis Inc. and Scott Edwards Architecture’s Canstruction entry. Canstruction is an event in which teams of architects and engineers build giant structures made entirely out of cans of food. The structures will be on display April 14th through April 19th at the Pioneer Place Shopping Center in Downtown Portland. At the end of the exhibit the structures are taken down and the food is donated to the Oregon Food Bank for distribution to local food shelters, pantries, and soup kitchens. The race benefits Albertina Kerr Centers’ services for children, adults and families with emotional or mental health challenges and developmental disabilities. Ninety-one cents of every dollar raised is spent on vital programs for Oregonians who have nowhere else to turn. Locally-operated races start and end at the warm and dry Oregon Convention Center, where roses and medals await every finisher. Raffle prizes and top finisher awards, and fresh food add to the festivities. Come see why Race for the Roses has become a must-do on the Northwest running calendar.

Presented by SolAire Home Builders, this fun 5K/10K run/walk starts at McKay Park at 9:00 a.m. Pre-register at either www.signmeup.com or deliver a completed registration form to the Central Oregon Environmental Center or the Foot Zone in downtown Bend by April 25. Proceeds from the event fund the Central Oregon Environmental Center and the education, protection and restoration of local rives and streams. An awards ceremony with a free drawing for prizes will begin after the race. 5/16/09 The Friar Trot 10K and 5K St. Francis School Campus, 15643 SW Oregon Street, Sherwood OR Jennifer Vranizan 503-720-1993 TheFriarTrot.com info@thefriartrot.com All of the events start on the campus of St. Francis and winds through the beautiful Sherwood community and Stella Olsen Park. 100% of the net proceeds will go to help raise the funds to build a gymnasium for our school. This gym will serve not only our school kids but also the greater Sherwood community. Parking is available at the small white church on Oregon Street across from the Sherwood Fire Station.

Registration forms are available at the library and also online at www.newberglibrary.org. After the run/walk, there will be a free hot dog lunch at the library for runners and walkers, and everyone can enjoy the music of Roughly Hewn, a local band, from 11:00-noon. Participants may also purchase an event t-shirt.

8/28/2009 OfficeMax Portland To Coast Walk Relay 127 Mile, Team Relay Portland Oregon 503.292.4626 www.portlandtocoastwalk.com office@htcrelay.com The 127 mile scenic Oregon course begins in Portland and finishes at the Pacific Ocean on the sand in the coastal town of Seaside. Capped out 400 teams of 12 walkers per team. This event sells out annually, so don't hesitate to register! 8/28/2009 Nike Hood To Coast Relay 197 Mile, Team Relay Mt Hood to Seaside Oregon 503.292.4626 www.hoodtocoast.com office@htcrelay.com The scenic Oregon course begins at Timberline Lodge at the base of Mt. Hood, travels through Portland, finally finishing 197 miles later at the Pacific Ocean on the sand in the coastal town of Seaside. Registration is capped at 1000 teams of 12 runners, and has sold out for the last 23 years. Tagged as The Mother of All Relays, it truly is the adventure of a lifetime!
09/13/2009 XTERRA Trail Run National Championship Half Marathon, 10 km, 5 km Bend Oregon Emily Mcllvaine 877-XTERRA-1 http://www.xterraplanet.com/xduro/nationals.html emily@xterraplanet.com After all the adventure of last year's XTERRA Trail Running National Championship, XTERRA is excited to return to beautiful Bend, Oregon on September 13. Since last September, thousands of runners have competed in the 2009 XTERRA Trail Run Series for their chance to be crowned champions of their region and receive free entry to this year's XTERRA Nationals. Having been called "America's Best Trail Running Town" by the editors of Outside Magazine, Bend is certainly worthy of hosting this talented group of runners. The main event, the half-marathon distance Xduro, starts in the historic Old Mill District and is accompanied by shorter 5 and 10km fun runs. Although qualification is not necessary for any of these 2009 events, runners who completed one of the Xduro events around the country in less than 3 hours will receive special recognition on race day. The fastest runners will be racing for $5,000 in prize money – awarded to the top five men and women as follows: $1,000, $600, $400, $300, $200. XTERRA will also be crowning national champs in age groups starting at 9 & under, then every five years (ex. 10-14, 15-19, etc…) up to 80+. Champs win a commemorative long-sleeve winners T and all racers get a short sleeve shirt and goody bag.
