In the 1-mile Run, the top finishers will win a trophy. In addition, Parkland College is giving three free credit hours to the first male and female Parkland student to finish. The top three finishers in each of six age categories for the 5K will also receive an Age-Group award, and finishers age 13 and younger in both races will earn special recognition. Proceeds from this event will support the Office of Student Life's Alternative Spring Break Project, a landscaping project for the Don Moyers Boys and Girls Club. Application must be recived by March 19th to be considered pre-registered. |

An assortment of refreshments will be available to the participants. Awards for the top male and top female finisher, as well as the top three finishers in each category will be presented following the end of the run/walk. No roller blades, pets, bicycles, or refunds. This event is part of the 12th Annual Route 66 Festival in Downtown Edwardsville, IL. The Route 66 Festival 10K is a fundraiser for the Metro Milers Club. The 10K course is a mostly flat course with some small hills. The course will start in Downtown Edwardsville and travel through Edwardsvilles historic neighborhoods then on the beautiful MCT Trails. Then finishing back at the City Park, where runners and walkers celebrate at the post-race festival. The course will be closing on a 16:00 min/mi pace. Any participants still remaining on the course may finish but will be ask to move to the side of the roadway. The finish line will remain open for 2 hours after the start. Field Size limited to 660 participants. Early Fee (if postmarked by May 31st) : $20 Late Fee (no mail-in entries accepted after June 11th) : $25 Race Day : $30 Metro Milers Members subtract $3 from fees. Co-chair, Tamara Ruth, is hopeful that this years upgrades will only help to improve on an already successful project for the Peoria Jaycees. Proceeds from this years event will benefit the Diabetes Foundation, Catholic Charities, Crime Stoppers, Peoria Childrens Home, & the Peoria Jaycees .
