It started not only to fill a vacuum that existed for athletic events but also to act as a major fundraiser for Dixon Main Street as well as the Dixon Booster Club of Dixon High School. In the first year the race enjoyed over 300 runners and each year that number continues to grow. It begins at the Reagan Home on Hennepin Avenue and concludes at Haymarket Square on Highland Avenue. Our age brackets range from 10 years old and up with a very unique award to the first overall winner as well as awards given for the first three places, each division, male and female. We start this wonderful event out by including children 9 and under to join us in the Kids Fun Run. It’s a free, fun and safe event that begins at 7:30 a.m. at the corner of Hennepin and Eighth Street and each participant will receive a free t-shirt along with a goodie bag. So please join us on the 1st of July, whether you’re a runner or a walker – everyone’s encouraged to come. Early registration is recommended ($15.00) and race packets can be picked up on June 30th at the Dixon Main Street Office. Participants can also register the day of the race ($20.00). |
