GRACE Foundation was established in 2008 as a member of the Grand Island Community Foundation. This newly-established foundation was born out of the need and desire to help local cancer patients and their families in their fight with this deadly disease. Local breast cancer survivors and dear friends, Lisa Willman and Julie Pfeifer, came to realize that everyone deals with diagnosis, treatment and survivorship differently. Their hope is to provide not only emotional support, but to have funds available through the foundation to assist with unique financial obligations and unmet needs for those fighting ALL types of cancer. |

The Teal Lotus Project is based on spreading awareness by sharing a survivors story and passion to help others. If you are a survivor, this purpose is to let you know that your are not alone. This year's 5K and 1 mile fun run & fitness challenge will be both competitive, for those runners who are actively involved in races, as well as family-focused to promote fitness and healthy eating in Nebraskan families while having fun. The fitness component of the 1 mile run will include physical fitness challenges at each 1/4 mile at food-group stations. At the end of the race, kids will be given colorful stickers from each of the 5 food groups. At the end of the race, the 1 mile runners will be decorated with the food groups! |
