The Inaugural Fondy Fair 5K Run/Walk will take place at 8:00am on Saturday, July 24, 2010. This family event will start and end on the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds. Runners and walkers of all skill levels are welcome to participate. The Fondy Fair 5K Run/Walk is also an opportunity to promote and educate event participants about the importance of agriculture in Fond du Lac County. Runners and walkers in this race take off at 8:00am from the fairgrounds and will follow the 3.1 mile course that will eventually loop back to the fairgrounds. A registration fee of $20 is required to participate on the day of the race. Overall, the soft, forgiving course is 80% singletrack, with slightly wider, equestrian sections sprinkled in between. This is the least technical of all the Endurance Challenge courses.

Participants can choose to run, walk, ski, snowshoe, skate or even skijor the 4.5-mile course on the famous "ice road" across frozen Lake Superior from Bayfield to Madeline Island and back. The race will start on the Bayfield side. Participants must go around a stake on the Madeline Island side about 2.2 miles away, then return to the start. Participants can choose their own course to turn the stake - on the ice road, off the ice road, straight or curving. All entrants will be started and timed together. Registration is $15 and can be done online at www.midwestevents.com or at the Bayfield pavilion starting at 10:00 am. The race begins at 11:00 am. Snowshoe and ski rentals available.
