Flat and fast! Competitive and recreational runners alike will love this quick course through residential Marion. Timers at each mile and a water stop will be featured. Participants of the 5K Fun Walk will enjoy the chance to get out with friends for a morning stroll in this non-competitive event. Walkers will share the course with runners, finishing among the spectators in City Square Park.

Prizes will be awarded for the fastest male and female runners. Pre-registration is $10 per person by September 10 and $15 day of registration. The scenic and spectator friendly course is run almost entirely on grass, trails, and dirt roads. Activities will take place for the kids during the race including pumpkin decorating, balloon tying, and crafts. 04/30/2011 MPD 5K4K9 Fun Run/Walk 5k Linn Mar Football Complex, 3111 North 10th Street, Marion IA Shellene Gray (319)377-4006 (319)447-6061 https://secure.getmeregistered.com/get_information.php?event_id=4140 admin@marionpolice.com The K9 Unit of the Marion Police Department was established in 1998 through generous contributions from the community and remains funded solely through donations. Our K9 unit consists of three Belgian Malinois ranging from 2-10 years in age that specialize in drug detection or bomb/firearm detection. All dogs are also trained to conduct building searches, assist in tracking/apprehending suspects, and other general patrol functions. Ongoing costs include training, veterinary expenses, equipment and supplies, and replacement of dogs when necessary. We appreciate your support in helping our K9 Unit continue to be at the disposal of local school districts and other law enforcement agencies and communities in eastern Iowa as needed.
