This will be our third annual race in the 540 acres of Greenspace at the Brainerd Arboretum. The half marathon course and 10K race covers the beautiful, but challenging, terrain of wooded trails, flora and fauna. The proceeds from the event will be donated to the Arboretum, a non-profit organization. In the winter, the same course is used by the X-C skiers. All participants will be given a t-shirt, a finisher token, and will be treated to a delicious meal (deep fried turkey) at the awards ceremony. Door prizes will be awarded, also. Make plans now for this event. Bring the family and join in on the fun, food and camaraderie of a great bunch of running enthusiasts.

The race is $12.00 before race day and $15.00 on race day. The walk is $2.00 before race day and $4.00 on race day. Wecota is approsimately 10 miles north of Faulkton, SD. Walkers will be on paved road and runners will be on dirt, gravel, and paved roads. There will be a pot luck after the race to congradulate the runnings/walkers and to have a community get together. Scheduled around the full moon in August, the third annual running of the Wild West Relay will be Friday, August 11th - Saturday, August 12th, 2006. The relay begins by the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Fort Collins, Colorado, and finishes in the beautiful ski and summer resort town of Steamboat Springs. Much of this very scenic and remote course runs through National Forests or along dirt roads. The route winds through Roosevelt, Medicine Bow, and Routt National Forests, and through small, mountain and ranching communities.
