This fundraising event has grown into one of the largest 5K races in Northern Utah, attracting runners from all over the state. Last year about 2100 people participated in the 5K, raising more than $35,000 in donations for local schools. This year’s 5K is scheduled for March 31st at 8:30 a.m.with the start and finish line at the Goldenwest Credit Union corporate office in South Ogden. Seven schools are participating as sponsors in the race, including Bonneville High School, South Ogden Junior High, T.H. Bell Junior High, H. Guy Child Elementary, MarLon Hills Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, and Uintah Elementary. We're also hosting a dinner that's a steal at the same price as the race(see below). The fun begins at 6:30 pm. Arrive early to check out prizes that will be given away in a drawing, to visit with friends and neighbors, to get your race number and to scope out the course. All proceeds will benefit the PTA which provides the means for special events, a reading program, etc, that the kids would otherwise miss out on. The race starts and finishes at Horizon Elementary School, 5180 S Glendon Way (approx 710 West). The course is a big circle, part of it on the scenic Jordan River Trail.
