01/02/11 Brazen New Year Runs Half Marathon/10K/5K Castro Valley CA Sam Fiandaca (510) 750-5919 http://www.brazenracing.com/newyearrun.html sam@brazenracing.com All courses include rolling, but very runnable hills. For those who have run our other recent events, these courses represent some mercy. They are much easier and faster than the Bear Creek or Rocky Ridge, and just a little more hilly than the Point Pinole runs. Because there is always a chance of rain before and (hopefully not) during the race, the courses chosen are generally "wet weather" friendly. This means the 5K will be entirely on paved trails around the lake. The 10K and half marathon are roughly 50% on paved trail and 50% on fire trails. So whether you are an experienced trail runner or a first-timer ready to get your feet dirty, you should thoroughly enjoy these races. Hikers/walkers are always welcome!
1/29/2011 Coyote Hills Half Marathon/10K/5K 13.1M, 10K, 5K Coyote Hills Regional Park CA Sam Fiandaca 510-750-5919 http://www.brazenracing.com/coyotehills.html sam@brazenracing.com Whether it's your first race or your 1000th, you will enjoy these races. Half the fun will be experiencing all the different kinds of trails, including dirt, paved and even wood. Hikers/walkers are always welcome! Age group awards will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in 5 year categories (less for the younger ages). All runners will receive custom finisher medals and custom shirts (cotton and tech shirts available). More info on shirts/awards page. The Oakland Running Festival (also known as the "Oakland Marathon") will be providing free entries for their 2011 races. Two will go to the male and female half marathon winners and two will be raffled off (one to a runner and one to a volunteer). Start times will be: 9:00am for the Half Marathon, 9:10am for the 10K and 9:20am for the 5K. All races will be professionally timed. Shirts are guaranteed to those who sign up by 1/16. We will order extras, but cannot guarantee size, so we recommend early registration.
