Tux on the Run Penguin Race is the Northwest Arkansas Family YMCA's annual run. The 5K race starts at 11a.m. with the Best Dressed - Tux and Gown contest before the race. Awards will be given to the top three. The 1.8 mile Family Fun Run/Walk will award the first three families that cross the finish line ALL TOGETHER prizes. Race t-shirts and goodie bags given to all registered. Medals to top male/female finishers and 1st thru 3rd for 6 age categories. Run Registration is $20 before 12/25 and family registration for run/walk is $10 per family, or $20 for family of four +. |

| 1/7/12 2nd Annual Bulldog Run will take place on January 7th, 2012 at 8:00 am, at 518 Glensford Drive, Fayetteville 28314. Check in begins at 6:00 am. Our goal this year is to raise $2,500 for new computers and security measures, to help our students continue to excel in technology while learning in a safe environment. Last year we raised more than $1,500 for two automatic defibrillators to be installed at the school. We would appreciate any advance coverage you can give us to help spread the word about this fun, family- friendly event. There aren’t many races in the Fayetteville area in the winter, and this is a great way to stay in shape, keep up on your race time, and support a worthwhile cause! Prizes will be given to the top three runners, and refreshments will be served. Looking for ways to promote the story? How about tying our efforts to improve security to recent safety concerns at other area High Schools? School these days is a much different environment for students than it used to be.
