6/14/2009 BRITISH MOTORCAR GATHERING : Reservoir Park, Reservoir Road Hellertown PA 18055 (610) 865-3419 http://www.keystonemg.com/hellertown.html show@keystonemg.com Additional Info : More than 200 vintage British sports cars will be on display Sunday, June 14, when the 16th Annual British Motorcar Gathering is staged at Hellertown Reservoir Park, just south of Bethlehem. The annual British car show features finely restored MGs, Triumphs, Jaguars, Austin-Healeys, Morgans and Mini-Coopers from every mid-Atlantic state. Classic British sports cars and sedans dating from the 1930s to present day will be displayed in a wooded setting, with separate areas set up for each make of car. British car owners who register their cars will cast votes to choose the top three examples of each class and model of car, with more than 50 awards to be made. There will also be a "Best of Show" award to choose the favorite car of the day, and a "Diamond in the Rough" award, given to a car which is still on its way to complete restoration. All makes of British cars and motorcycles, old and new, are welcome. Registration is $10 before May 31, and $15 thereafter or at the gate. Spectators are welcome to come look over the cars for a $2 admission charge. ($5 per family) The field opens at 9 a.m., with judging from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Food and drinks are available in a large picnic pavilion, with events for children and music provided all day. The annual show is hosted by the Keystone Region MG Club, a Lehigh Valley-based organization of MG owners. The British Motorcar Gathering will be held rain or shine. From Interstate 78, take Exit 67, following Route 412 south to Hellertown. After about two miles on Route 412, turn left onto Polk Valley Road, and follow signs to the Reservoir Park.
