9/12/2009 2nd Annual Leake Co. 4-H Open Car and Truck Show Location : Carthage Coliseum Carthage MS 39051 601-267-8036 wboshart@ext.msstate.edu Additional Info : September 12, 2009 (Rain Date Sept. 19) 2nd Annual Leake Co. 4-H Open Car and Truck Show to be held at the Carthage Coliseum, in Carthage, MS. All proceeds go to support the Leake Co. 4-H program. Pre-registration fee is $20 and you will receive a free car show t-shirt if received by August 24th. Registration fee day of show is $20 with no t-shirt. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. Show begins at 10:00 a.m. Trophies awarded are as follows: Top 25 cars, Top 5 trucks, Best in Show, and 4-H Members Choice. Door prize and trophy presentations begin 12:30. There will be a concession stand, door prizes, 50/50 raffle, t-shirts available for purchase, and of course great music. Please come out and support a great cause, and once again help us have another great show. Registration 8:00 till 12:00, on site fee of $25. Pre-registration $20, 2nd car $15. Kick off Party on September 11 in the pavilion at the same location beginning at 6:00pm. More fun races and more cash in 2009. Cash will be awarded for all races, poker walk, money tree, 50/50 pot. Trophies will be awarded for best overall 1st and 2nd in categories; other trophies will be presented for 10 specialty categories including rat rods and "Killers" 40. The races arte considered a highlight, which include Gravity Slow, Commode, Valve Cover, Wheel Chair, and Grapefruit races. The Gravity Slow is staged on a hill with a stop light start. The overall winner receives cash and then races the winner in 2008 for the King of Hill trophy and the presentation of the winner's name, his car and club name in the Cruisin the River flyer for 2009 in the hall of Fame.
