History

In my youth I was extremely active in as many sports as possible mainly cross country and track (Photo).  After graduating High School I joined the USAF remaining active and continuing my running.  I enjoyed the competition and never worried about the health or fitness benefits.  It wasn't until I stopped running that I realized the negative effects and started gaining weight. Diet was the 4 letter word I thought I would never use.

I graduated high school in 1983 weighing around 150 lbs.  I continued running until I was married in 1996.  At the time I was married I had already started to see my weight gradually increasing up to 170 lbs.  The married life was great but consumed much of the spare time that was previously devoted to running.  I also started a new career which demanded 60 hours plus a week.  Although I stopped competing in running events I still tried to run a few days a week which help maintain my weight a little.

I managed to keep my weight under 200 lbs for a number of years.  In 1999 my beautiful daughter was born which was the happiest day of my life.  After the birth of my daughter and increasing responsibilities with my career, I stopped running and gradually jumped up to a weight of 240 lbs.  I started running again in 2000 and by 2001 I was back to 185 lbs and running very well.  In 2004 I stopped running completely and saw my weight reach 260 lbs (Photos).  So there it is, I gained 110 lbs from the time that I graduated high school in 1983. and 75 lbs since 2004.
