Follow Hwy 24 south of Leadville for 4 miles, go west on Hwy 300 for 2 miles. Hwy 300 will take you directly to the Hatchery. Time: 5k begins at 9:00 am Registration: 7:30 – 8:45 am Entry Fee: pre-registration $18; race day registration $20. 5K Course: The race will feature a scenic cross country style course that winds through subalpine forest near and around the Evergreen Lakes and lower Rock Creek area. The route consists of dirt road, path or trail. Awards: Overall male and female winners will receive a trophy. Commemorative medallions will be given to the top male and female finishers in each age groups: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+. All participants are eligible for a post-race raffle. |

Race packet distribution will begin at 6:45 until 7:15 and the both races start at 7:30. This is a fundraising event for the Smokey Bear???s Hometown Association, which in turn assists the Smokey Bear Historical Park. |

Because this is a point to point race, shuttle service is provided back to the Mission. Participants receive a race t-shirt, goody bag and post race refreshments. Awards are given to the top three finishers in a variety of age categories. The race is designed for the serious athlete as well as the novice and is open to runners and walkers of all ages. Proceeds benefit the St. Mike's athletic programs and student activities. |
