Some friends invited me to bike from Jackson to Idaho Falls(110 miles). I thought I would die. I hurt for days. I went with friends to Crater Lake Oregon and nearly finished riding that 33 miles of torture. I came home and started training. I didnít know how to start training. First day I ran as fast as I could for two miles. I ached and cramped. The next day with a lot of icy hot and asper cream I ran three miles. I made up my mind that I would never run less than 3 miles again. It took 6 weeks before I quit hurting. Over the next few months I lost over 90 pounds. It is now six years later and I have a box of medals. A few trophies and over 4 dozen race shirts in my closet. I have run over 25 marathons, many half marathons, a few 10 and 5kís. I have completed several Triathlon, Team Runs (including Hood To Coast), trail runs, and bike rides ( 80 mile and centuries ). It has been a great trip. I am 54 years old and I set my personal best 10k of 43:19 a couple of months back. That is 5 minutes faster than last year. I plan to qualify for Boston this year and improve my time in all categories. If I can lose the weight and get in shape you can too. I am getting all my friends to start walking, jogging and hiking. We started a club in our community for this purpose. Thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement. Go And Do It!!
