Where: William Perry Elementary School; 840 King Ave.; Waynesboro, Virginia

The 5K run/walk course winds through the neighborhoods surrounding William Perry School (see course map on back). The course will be open to vehicles, so runners/walkers must be mindful of traffic. Race volunteers will assist with traffic control. All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult on the race course. Free parking is available at William Perry School.

When:  Run/Walk will begin promptly at 8:30 A.M.  Runner/walker check-in and race day

registration are 7:30-8:15.

Entry Fee: $20.00 individual through Friday, October 23

                   $25.00 individual after 10/23 and on race day

3 ways to register early:

  • MAIL IN: must be postmarked by Wednesday, October 21. Include completed registration form(s) and check made payable to “William Perry Run for SPED.” Mail In Registration Form.pdf

            Mail to WPE Run for SPED, 840 King Ave., Waynesboro, VA, 22980

  • DROP OFF: drop off completed registration form and payment (checks made payable to “William Perry Run for SPED”) to William Perry School by 4:00 P.M. on Friday, October 23.
  • Online at www.runwalkjog.com.

Benefits:  Exclusive race t-shirt guaranteed to first 100 entrants on race day. Awards will be presented after race. Post-race refreshments will be provided for participants. All entries will be entered into a drawing for over 25 door prizes, donated by local businesses (you must be present to win).

Awards: Awards for top M and F overall. Additional M and F awards in the following age categories:

7 and under; 8-10; 11-13; 14-16; 17-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60 and over

Other Festivities: William Perry PTO’s Fall Carnival is the following Saturday (11/7)!

Every participant must sign this waiver Runner’s Agreement, Waiver, Release and Acknowledgement

I know that running or walking a road race is a potentially dangerous activity. I should not run/walk unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by all decisions of the race officials relative to my ability to complete the run/walk safely. I assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, including high heat and humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release William Perry Elementary School, the City of Waynesboro, and all sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event. Furthermore, I agree to be bound by the rules established with respect to this event. In consideration of the safety of all participants and bystanders, I understand that absolutely no animals, headphones, skateboards, skates, rollerblades, or bicycles are allowed on the Run for SPED race course. I understand that those wishing to participate with baby joggers or baby strollers must walk the course and defer to the race director’s instructions. In addition, I understand that if the race is cancelled because of circumstances beyond the control of the organizers, my entry fee will not be refunded. I grant permission to all the foregoing to use photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.
