When I originally got this sweet truck in Santa Fe in 1992, you could
see the ground passing under your feet. Did a frame-up restoration w/new
cab floor and oak bed. She’s since traveled from Sante Fe NM to Orcas Is
WA, Spokane WA, Brookings OR, Cambria CA and back to Bainbridge Is WA
w/a number of adventures along the way. Feels like a family member
actually.
She's a C10 Stepside, straight 6 cylinder w/3 speed Hurtz shifter on
floor, oak bed and camper shell. Rebuilt transmission with heavy duty
clutch (1992). Frame-up restoration, repainted (perrywinkle),
reupholstered, replaced radiator (1993). New exhaust & brakes (1997).
New distributor (2000). Tires, oil & valve gaskets replaced (2002)
before storing under cover for a year 10/2002-10/2003. Replaced carb,
spark plug wires, distributor cap, valve gasket, radiator (12/2003).
Replaced fuel pump, front wheel cylinders, brake hoses, turned front
brake drums (2/04). All cylinders pressure check @ 135+ w/#2 slightly
lower. Always covered. Clean inside & out.
Not at show level(thus should not be expected to be perfect), yet could
easily be brought to show to sell in the neighborhood of $25-32K. A fun
truck complimented wherever she goes and continuing to appreciate in
value!
NOTE: NADA gives a range of $7900 for a low to $32,000 high retail (link
below). She's not a "daily driver" (I don't drive these days) and would
certainly qualify as "average" at least (i.e., $14,900 range w/NADA)
Have $10K into her. Moving to HI so need to let her go to another caring
owner. Please appreciate at $5000.
