The run is hosted by the nonprofit Pacific Whale Foundation. Runners choose from a 5K walk or fun run or a half marathon run. There’s also a 2K children's race. Participants receive a free race t-shirt, a free post-race breakfast, and ankle chip timing (for the 5K and half marathon). There are medals and free whalewatch tickets for the top finishers plus other great prize giveaways. The entry fee is $38 for the half marathon, $30 for the 5K run, $25 for the 5K walk and and $20 for the 2K children’s race if you register by 5 pm on February 5. After that the fees are $42 for the half marathon, $35 for the 5K run, $30 for the 5K walk and $25 for the 2K children's race. Fees benefit marine education programs for Maui schoolchildren. The Half Marathon starts at 6:30 a.m.; the 5K starts at 7:30; the children's 2K race starts at 8:00 a.m. Please arrive at least a half hour prior to your race. Race will start and finish at YMCA Camp Erdman and run along Farrington Hwy (Paved Surface) between the rugged Waianae Mountains and the pristine shorelines of Mokuleia. People can choose between just run or spend all the weekend with us. The entry fee includes post race activities from 10-4pm, like Odyseey/Alpine Tower, Swimming Pool, Archery, Keiki Club and a chance to hear from experts on topics such as planning nutritious meals, relaxation techniques and how to take charge of reaching your personal health goals and for the people that wanna spend the weekend with us much more activites. |

| 08/22/2010 Waipahu Cane Haul 5K Run/Walk 5K Hawai'i Plantation Village HI Kelli Buenconsejo 808-397-7750 http://www.canehaulrun.blogspot.com canehaulrun@yahoo.com This event will take runners and walkers on a scenic route throughout Waipahu town from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and end at historic Hawai‘i Plantation Village. The course begins on Waipahu Street and heads north towards Manager’s Drive. From there, participants will travel along Hiapo Street and end their journey above the entrance to the Hawai‘i Plantation Village. Fee for the event: Runners/walkers: $20 per individual entry or $10 per entry for a school group of more than 10 participants or $15 per entry for other group participants registered by August 2, 2010. Those registering between August 3 and August 16, 2010 will be $25 per individual entry and for those who wish to register the day of the event, $30 per individual entry. Individuals ages 6 and up are required to pay the registration fee. For those in strollers and who are 5 years or younger will not be charged for the race. Free event T-shirts are not guaranteed for late and day of entries. Exception: School group entries |
