Comments:
This is a very rare Big Block Mopar. There were only 528 - 440 Automatic
Chargers built in 1967. 67 was the second year of the First Generation
Charger.
Several members of the 1966/67 Dodge Charger Club (66_67_dodge_chargers@yahoogroups.com)
and the “North Georgia Mopar Club” have seen this car. This is an
original 440 Magnum car with the correct date coded engine. I believe it
to be the original block. She is the original metallic blue with white
stripe and black interior. She has power steering and drum brakes.
I tracked the history of the car and she was originally sold in North
Carolina. The daughter of the earliest owner I could track down said her
father won the car in a poker game in Atlantic City and brought her back
to North Carolina. In the late 70s she was taken to Ohio. She had a
total restoration in 1980. The person that restored her believed the
stripe to be original. The car was looked at by Galen Govier and he
would not commit either way. Some say this type of stripe was done at
the factory and some say it was done at the dealership. There is no way
to know for certain whether this stripe is original.
The speedometer reads ~140,000 and I believe it to be accurate. I
purchased the car in 2001 from the gentleman that did the restoration.
The car now resides in the Atlanta Georgia area. She is a column shift
car with no console. The torgque flite 727 transmission was just
rebuilt. The original rear gear was a 276. I recently swapped that with
391 gears. The 276 gears are in good shape and go with the car along
with the 391 gears. She has dog dish hubcaps and redline tires which are
correct for a 1967 440 Charger.
I have driven this car to Ocala, Florida 4 times to Mopar Shows at Don
Garlits Museum, to Auburn, Indiana twice to National Charger Meets, and
to Charleston, SC once for the fun of it. Can you tell she drives well?
The wiring harness under the dash and under the hood is new. The
headlights rotate. There should be no surprises when you get her home.
This is a complete and solid car.

The Speed Channel TV Show "American Muscle Car" used this car in the
"Dodge Charger/Dodge Viper" episode to represent the year 1967 in its
Charger episode.
The show can be seen periodically on The Speed Channel. The car shown on
the cover of the DVD is this Charger.
I would drive her any where. I have owned her for about 6 years. Life
changes and so do priorities. I want her to go to someone that has
passion for such a special car.
Please remember this is a 40 year old car. This is an "As is Sale". No
warranties are implied or otherwise. The bidding price does not include
delivery. I live 35 miles northeast of Atlanta. Plan accordingly. |
